Precious Penny, I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Hospitali-Tea Retreat in April! I am so thankful that I didn't allow the many obstacles thrown in my way to deter me from coming. I was blessed in so many ways that weekend by your mininstry and your sweet staff. It is obvious that you all have the "heart of a servant" and the Lord used each of you to minister His love in so many ways throughout the weekend. I loved your attention to detail and the many preparations you arranged to make us feel welcome. Of course, the accomodations at Round Top are "over the top" and it was a double blessing to be able to spend some time getting to know Euphanel. Penny, your passion for all things "lovely" is both inspirational and refreshing. I am not easily impressed, but the combination of your joy, the easy and uplifiting conversations, the many new friendships formed and the lovely tea on Saturday made for a delightful and encouraging weekend. Dear Penny, We are all on our antiquing trip and still talking about our weekend retreat. We felt like we were treated like queens- everything was so perfect. We all agree it was the most relaxing week we ever had. Tonight we made your delicious olive dip. Tomorrow we are having the breakfast quiche. Next Friday we are having a tea party and are making the cucumber sandwiches and the Devonshire cream. We bought two car loads worth of treasures this weekend. We appreciated how you incorporated God's Word into our beautiful weekend. Please keep us informed of any ladies events where we can see our new friends again. We must close our tea is gettig cold. Penny, I just wanted to tell you again how much I enjoyed the Womens Retreat on "Gracious Living" and "Hospitalitea". My friends and I had a wonderful time. We all enjoyed being together and meeting new friends. Your staff was excellent. The food was delicious. They made us feel so special. You were such a gracious hostess. You informed me more on giving teas and being a gracious hostess. I am anxious to start practicing giving my teas. I usually don't give teas very often but I am motivated to do them more now. We had fun staying up late, getting my hands waxed and massaged. I especially enjoyed getting to know you. Thanks again for a wonderful weekend. May God Bless you for your faithfulness to him.
Your Women's Retreat on "gracious living" and "hospitali-tea" lived up to its name! I enjoyed every minute. Your delightful spontaneous personality made your speaking not only informative but entertaining. Then our yummy delicious teas put that etiquette in to action. I'm now not only equipped but inspired to do the same day-by-day at home!

RE: Pre-Mother's Day Tea held May 10, 2008 Dear Mrs. Ward: The Shelter was blessed to have some of our families take advantage of the Tea you and Julie served on Saturday. My ladies said you and Julie were servants with a heart for God's people. The ladies felt they were treated like the Queens God intended them to be. They were exhorting the goodness of God because of the genuine love they received from both of you. Please relay my thanks to Julie -- no matter what large or small part either of you played in preparing, lugging everything up to our facility or serving them; our ladies will never forget you! Thank you seems insufficient to express the intrinsic satisfaction of just knowing someone like yourself cared enough to reach out and bless these families. Thank you for looking past their current state to see them in their finished state -- the way God sees all of us. Penny, you are such a gracious hostess! I was lucky enough to win the Tea Party Basket that you generously donated to the Onion Blossoms Luncheon benefitting the Stehlin Foundation for Cancer Research. This weekend, I was able to share my tea party with my friends. You did such a wonderful job--your presentation was fabulous as always! And the food was delicious! We enjoyed tasting the different varieties of teas that you prepared for us, as well as learning some new things about tea! I would recommend a tea party to any busy woman that would like to spend a few peaceful hours with her friends. It was nice to escape our busy lives to a simpler, more graceful time! I have been to several of your events and you never fail to impress me with your gift of hospitality! Your attention to detail is what makes any event that you are involved in extra special. The food was fabulous! Anytime a meal is cooked and served to me, it tastes that much better! I appreciated the variety and homecooked quality of each meal. Penny, thanks for all you did to make our Sunday School class Fellowship Dinner a success. The chicken fajitas and beef tacos were great, the salsa was mouth-watering and the Key Lime Trifle was divine! The table decorations (bandanas and oil lamps) helped set the casual atmosphere that we were looking for. We look forward to another evening with you and Terry!
Penny, Wanted to let you know that I have been so impressed with the events I have seen you do. The tea at Baptist Temple amazed me because you used everything you did to create an atmosphere of welcome and hospitality. The presentation was beautiful. Each dish was chosen and placed to add to the overall atmosphere. Each food item was prepared and displayed beautifully. The response of the women there made it obvious to me that I was not the only one ministered to by your gifts. The Foundry brunch also blessed me. The sunflower theme was bright and cheery and invited conversation and friendship. The table decorations, with the sunflower cutouts, brought the whole room together. The serving area overflowed with added touches - raffia ties, baskets placed at angles, warm fresh bread, etc. The room was challenging at best to decorate, but you were up to the challenge as usual! Thanks again for using the gifts God has given you to bless the body of Christ. Pam
I can not thank Penny enough for the incredible work she did for a baby shower. Her precious "Princess and the Pea" teddy bear made a perfect center piece surrounded by a delectable array of edibles. The menu consisted of tomato basil quiche, russian tea cookies, tuna salad on crescents, fruit, and a melt in your mouth cranberry tart. I could not have done the shower without Penny's wonderful expertise! I would highly reccomend Penny to anyone who is throwing any type of party for any occasion! She is an absolute God send with an amazing talent! Thank you Penny!
Our women's ministry was privileged to have Penny cater our Christmas luncheon. Using her nostalgic bears, she created heart-warming centerpieces that uniquely captured the Christmas season. The food was absolutely delightful, especially the desserts which were elegantly arranged in tiers on a round table using a "White Christmas" theme. At the end of the luncheon, each woman was given a delicate snowflake cookie lightly covered with sugar and wrapped in a cellophane bag tied with a gold ribboon. Penny's unique ability to combine delicacies and decorations will make any event an indelible memory!
Penny, We want you to know that you truly made our wedding day incredible because of your presence. Our appreciation of you goes beyond just the great food and atmosphere that you provided for our special day...your patience, love, organization, encouragement and passion throughout the whole process made everything go smoothly and peacefully. I work for a local homeless shelter. At Christmas-time our development department was asked, "Could you use any teddy bears?" Well, the answer was, "Yes." We had recently begun handing out stuffed animals to new children (and sometimes adults) when they arrived at the shelter. With so much going on in their lives--the stress of a new place to live--we believed the stuffed animals would give the children a sense of ownership and belonging. The bears that came from "Bears of Love" had a bible verse on each of them and they were all cute and cuddly! Bears of all sizes flooded my office and now go into the hands of desperate, fearful children who, by receiving a bear, know now, someone loves them. Some may think that a ministry of BEARS is silly...to see the looks on the faces of these children when they get a NEW bear to have all their own--it ia nothing short of Divinely Inspired. "Love truly BEARS all things"...even a short stay at a shelter. Thank you, Penny, for being open the serving the Lord in whatever manner He asks. To make this entry even longer...I must tell you of twin boys--ages--that came into the shelter a couple weeks ago. Mom had nothing but a few clothes and personal items. No toys, no games, not much for the children to play with. When a staff member asked the boys if they would like to have a bear...their eyes lit up. Each boy got his own bear--being twins we did not know if they wanted the SAME bear or different...but they got to choose. They stood in awe at the mound of bears before them and each chose his own bear to love "forever"--just as Jesus chose them--FOREVER!! Thank you, again, for your love of Christ that shows in all you do!!
God has truly blessed you with an overflowing gift of Biblical hospitality. Every time you do an event, you make everyone in the room feel special and lavished with Father God's love. Your love and commitment to Christ Jesus is evident in everything you do. Keep us the good work, my friend.
